Ann Downing

Unprecedented.  Uncertain.  Difficult.  Different.  How many times have we used these words in the course of the last 16 months?  All of us, in some way, affected by the glaring reminder that we do not control the world, its happenings, or their outcomes.  There have also been some positive reminders.  One in particular.  We’ve been reminded, in rather elaborate fashion, that we need each other.  Sometimes hard to admit, the truth of the matter doesn’t change. 

I want to talk to y’all about some of what’s been happening in the world of Ann Downing Ministries.  You know a little because you’ve lived these past months, too.  So many of you show you care about what we do here.  It NEVER goes unnoticed! 

So you’ll know more about how ADM has functioned during the COVID pandemic… God has truly helped us through many of you.  We’ve been amazed, but then again, He provides our needs according to His riches… and aren’t we all thankful!?!  It goes without saying, the financial needs of the ministry are met when we travel to churches and church related events.  With everything shut down for months on end, and some still trying to come back, there was no income for a very extended time except from gifts for which I am eternally grateful. 

If you’ve been around the past 11 or 12 years, you know Karissa has been and continues to be a vital part of ADM.  She is invaluable to the calling of this ministry.  Karissa has continued to physically receive paychecks all through COVID, the ministry just has not always been in position to allow for cashing or depositing those checks.  She’s been a trooper through it all.  We’re slowly catching up, but there are still about three months worth of checks the ministry CPA says really need to be deposited as soon as possible.  If I knew another way, I’d do it.  It just so happens that the ministry vehicle came due for tires last week and front and rear brakes today.  This makes catching those checks up even more difficult. 

I’m here asking today, if you would, primarily… pray for ADM.  If you believe the Lord would have you help fill in some of the gaps COVID and other unexpected financial hardships have placed on the ministry, I’ll again be truly grateful to you.  Things are beginning to pick back up, the holes just already exist from what we weren’t able to do last year.  And if you’d like to sponsor a week of salary for Karissa on a monthly basis, I’ll be glad to talk to you about options in that regard.  I pray for the day I don’t have to make these kinds of pleas.  Maybe that’s unrealistic and a form of pride.  I know the Bible says we are to take care of one another.  Maybe, just maybe, these are lessons He’s helping me learn by means a little different than I may desire.
